Designing for performance: opportunities with interactive early design tools

Designing for performance: opportunities with interactive early design tools

The importance of considering a variety of topics related to architectural technology in the early stages of architectural design and planning has been emphasized. The development of models and software necessary for structural analysis and environmental considerations at the initial stages of architectural design has also been accomplished. Especially, the use of artificial intelligence-based surrogate models, which can be useful in the early stages of architectural design, has increased the scope and utility of data-drivent models. Through this lecture and workshop, it will be shown how these surrogate models can be used for architectural design optimization in the early stage of the design.
